Over the past I have set myself wee challenges... Like breaking a 28 year nail-biting habit, adios helmet-heads! Quitting smoking (March 2011 and not a fag since). Like signing up for a half marathon and running the whole thing - mission accomplished! Oh and traveling the world in 365 days (on a budget) without needing to sleep in a bus stop, check! Don't be fooled though people, sometimes I set myself redick challenges: Only allowed to purchase an item of clothing once/month (that only lasted one month). Or what about this one... Must. Not. Go. Out. On. Weekend. Epic fail!
I'm on to a good one this time though.
Travels are on the horizon (excitement) so the purse strings have tightened and Summer is totally about ready to bust a move so pretty keen to start looking as mint as possible. I'm sure my pals will vouch for me when I say I'm energetic and active most of the time! But there are times when I would rather sit on my arse and read my book in the garden - or clean, bake, move my furntiture around, google or create endless 'shopping baskets' on Urban Outfitters and ASOS. Oh the joys of procrastination!
So... I hereby declare I will sweat it out, getting physical for at least 30 minutes/day for the 30 days of June. I have a lovely bike, a gym membership, a yoga mat and the lovely outdoors right on my doorstep - plenty of variation so NO EXCUSES!
I do love a wee challenge, especially ones where I can reap such positive rewards! I will keep you updated along the way as posting this alone is a fab motivational tool!
