Just a little over a month ago I proclaimed to the world - and by 'the world' I actually mean the few of you who take a (very appreciated) moment out of their busy lives to read my ramblings - that I would attempt to exercise for at least 30mins for the 30 days June! Sounded easy enough, right?
Wrong. It was a total pain in the arse, dragging myself out on those lazy weekend days when I just wanted to be a couch potato was not ideal - but without a doubt I always felt so much better after doing so! In the beginning there was the odd day where life just seemed too hectic to slip in even the minimal 30 minutes. And then that awful guilt crept in, gah.
June 21st we took off for the Isle of Wight Festival, 4 days of solid abuse to myself! But it was oh so good. I would like to say that I got my dose of exercise by going crazy bananas on the dance floor, but it wasn't really like that. It was mostly lazing around on the grass, all too regualr trips to the port-o-loos and trudging around in mud baths. The funny thing was, every morning we were woken up by ridiculous people yelling and jumping around doing an exercise class! I mean - honestly, who really brings their trainers to a music festival, gets up and the crack of dawn to do an aerobics class? Get a grip people! Then the recovery was tough following IOW Festival, like real rough. And so I didn't make it out to the gym, or to yoga, or for a wee run. Nope. Nudda. Now it's July 4th and I'm off the gym - finally!
So to conclude the facts and to summarise my thoughts of this challenge: I managed 18 out of 30 days. Epic fail! I guess I was kidding myself. But in reality, am I that bothered? Not one little bit! I still lost another 3kgs thoughout the month and I'm feeling better about flashing my legs! 18 days in comparison to the zero days that months have seen in the past is pretty sweet too. Lastly we'retalking about our 'well-being' here. And 'well-being' to me defines ones whole well-being: One part equals keeing fit and eating healthy and the other part equals letting loose with your friends, waking up in a tipi, eating a burger and dancing to Bruce Springsteen with the sunsets on Sunday evening!
Thanks for hearing me out. Shani x
sounds like a very well balanced, well-being, human being to me!

The district originally notified only the parents with children in room 7.
